NCC
The
college has a long bound tradition of discipline inculcated among the students
through the NCC. The wing of NCC was introduced way back in 1948, when National
Cadet Corps was introduced in the entire country, post-independence. After
independence, in 1948, the National Cadet Corps [NCC] was formed in the college
under the command of LT. R.N. Chakravorty. Presently, Lt. [Dr.] Shatrughna
Kumar Pandey is serving as the NCC Officer in the college.
The
NCC wing of the college works with the motto of preparing the students for
armed forces, comradeship and good citizen. NCC is catering to a wide range of
social services, including, blood donation camps, vaccination programmes,
swachhta programmes, various campaigns such as local for vocal, voter awareness
programmes, apart from disaster management and services.
Since
2014, the NCC wing of the college has introduced the Shaheed Subhash Sourav
Barla award for best cadet each year, named after Shaheed Subhash Barla, an
alumni of NCC and the college who was martyred in Jammu and Kashmir while
serving the nation.
