SC/ST/OBC CELL
Scheduled
Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) have been identified as the two most
backward groups of Indian Society. They include all the castes, races or
tribes, which have been socially, economically and educationally backward. In
order to integrate students of these groups into mainstream education system
without glitches, the SC/ST Cell has been set up in the college. The cell has
been established to support and empower the SC/ST students in the college. The
college takes special interest in facilitating financial support to students
from these communities from government agencies and other sources. They are
also encouraged to enroll for career orientation programs, which would equip
them with the necessary skills to choose a career option.
Apart
from SC/ST population, Hazaribag is also inhabited by a huge population base of
other backward communities. The college though set up in urban area, its
students belong to rural backward communities, largely coming from poor
socio-economic background. In order to empower these groups, the college has
therefore created the SC/ST/OBC Cell. Members of these communities comprise
this cell who assist in promoting and empowering students belonging to
SC/ST/OBC groups to quickly amalgamate into the college teaching-learning
activities.
